Description: When I had first discovered guitar kits about 6 years ago I had toyed with the idea of modifing a 6 string neck to 12 string. I found a 12 string strat style so that idea went on the back burner untill I found this kit which just begged to be a 12 string. Sanding the peghead sides to parallel made the construction of drilling and routing jigs a much simpler process. I went as far as to construct a full neck to make sure the neck would not interfear with the modifications and strung it to check string spacing of the nut. I fabricated the trapize bridge and truss rode cover, which is a little large to prevent the slot strings from digging into the laquer. I have enough red guitars so it was laquered an orange-glo. During final assemble I found the neck angle was a little low, but easily fixed by grinding the bottom of the bridge down about 1/8 inch. Plays and sounds great, it’s a little cramped to play open chords but I rarely play in open position.
